State regulation for the purchase of a school object

NEBS received a letter from the Nepalese state in early 2017 calling for:

- The private schools must have their own property within 5 years.
- Within 10 years, the schools must also have their own school
  building.

Under the pressure of the above requirements, an extension of the rental agreement for the existing NEBS property for two years could be initially agreed with the owner of the school building.

Intermediate immediate action

At the beginning of 2017, the school management of NEBS has extended the current 7 classes by one class. After this approved upgrade to the eighth grade, an additional 50 children were admitted, requiring more classrooms. As a purchase of the building was excluded from the owner, it was necessary to refrain from a possible increase in the existing main building.
Instead, a two-storey building near the school was rented and 5 additional classes were set up.

Even after this expansion, on the one hand with the future income of the school (from school fees, tractor, plantation) and on the other hand through the willingness of the teachers to accept below-average salaries, the necessary basic income for school operations was still almost covered, a build-up of reserves for any additional purchases that are required and especially for the purchase of an own property with a school building was no longer possible.
Ask for help to secure the
continuing of NEBS

With the help of generous donations from ANDOC, the following projects were completed between December 2018 December 2023:
Purchase of land for the school and construction of 17 classrooms - fulfilling the state requirements described at left.

In April 2023, construction began on a 2-story building with staircase for 4 additional classrooms, which ANDOC is also just about able to fund.
After completion of this building, a total of 17 classrooms will be available to accommodate up to 350 students.

As a result of the corona pandemic, the number of students is currently still significantly reduced. (260 instead of 350 before the pandemic).

Since a reasonably sustainable economic basis can only be achieved with a number of students of around 350, ANDOC continues to support the NEBS with ongoing financial contributions (as was the case during the lockdown times).

If it is foreseeable that, due to the great need for quality education for needy and underprivileged children, the number of students to be admitted to the NEBS will exceed the current possible maximum of 350, it is our concern to also financially support a corresponding expansion of the school buildings.
For additional classrooms, the 2-story building could be increased by 3 floors.

Therefore, we are asking for financial contributions from anyone we could illustrate the importance of the NEBS school project.

Ask for donations

With your donation to the Nile English Boarding School (NEBS) in Tikapur, you support a school that provides access to quality education for needy and underprivileged children and a high percentage of girls.
They help to ensure that independent and self-reliant people emerge from the school who take the future of their country into their own hands and thus contribute to improving living conditions and regional development.
At the same time, your donation will improve educational opportunities for needy and underprivileged children, thus helping to reduce discrimination against ethnic groups.
Type of donations

Subsidy to the low school fees
The average monthly school fee per child is currently 5.7 Euro.
In comparison to the school fees of other private schools, which are about twice as high, NEBS waives about 1,000 Euro per month.

Contribution to the school fees for needy children
By children who pay no or only a socially acceptable school fees, the NEBS escape about 350 euros per month compared to the average school fees of other private schools.

Extent of donations
Donations at any level, whether monthly or one-time, are welcome.
The donation account can be found in the footer.
Dedication of donations

The donations are primarily intended to compensate for the low or lost school fees due to the pandemic and to construct school buildings on school land purchased for the NEBS.

After realization of this projects, the NEBS would be able to continue its school model and evolve into a stand-alone, financially independent educational institution with exemplary character.

This would also be an essential goal of our cooperation with NEBS, namely to offer help for self-help.

The donations are managed with the least possible administrative effort, exclusively by volunteer members for the benefit of NEBS.

On behalf of the school management, we would like to thank you for your interest
and your past and future support.
